Seriously, or is this metaphor-speak? If seriously, all you need is the right light (eastern exposure is best, no direct sun) and lukewarm water once a week. Schultz's orchid food is good too during bloomtime while the buds are growing. It's worked for me like a charm, I've got a couple of these critters blooming right now.
But if this is just metaphor-speak, then throw my advice out the window and let me slink back w/dignity to my literal putzdom...
